Campus Community Campaign Under Way
Old Dominion's Campus Community Campaign 2013 officially kicked off March 20 and runs through May 10. The campaign goal is to make a difference for ODU students, faculty and staff.
Employees who contribute $100 or more will automatically be entered in a drawing to win a paid reserved parking space for one year. At the end of the campaign, an ice cream party will be awarded to the first vice presidential unit or college to reach 100 percent participation, and to the two units or colleges with the highest donor participation rate.
The goal for the 2013 campaign is 45 percent participation from ODU faculty and staff.
Campaign gifts may be made via payroll deduction, check or credit card, and designated for university priorities (unrestricted funds), athletic priorities or "other." Contributions in the "other" category may be targeted, for example, to a college or department, the library, a specific sports program, a specific academic or athletic scholarship, or the Alumni Association, to name a few. Linda Baker, program advisor, U.S. Army Cadet Command and Department of Military Science and Leadership (Army ROTC), and Charles Sukenik, professor and physics department chair, are serving as co-chairs for the campaign.
"We are excited to again serve as co-chairs of this year's Campus Community Campaign," they said in a letter to the campus community. "We hope you will join with your colleagues in making a charitable gift to Old Dominion University. Your continued support of our students each year through The Dominion Fund is both important and appreciated."
